From cowboy hats to Cadillac Ranch, we’re bringing local flair and unforgettable fun to the stage.

We’re getting closer to the much-anticipated weekend of The Nutcracker: Amarillo Dreamin' — and we could not be more excited to bring this magical, hometown twist on a holiday classic to life!
Below you’ll find all the essential details regarding rehearsals, performances, and costume requirements to help ensure a smooth and successful show experience for every performer.

📆 Full-Day Rehearsal — Sunday, November 30
Time: 2:00–5:00 PM
This is a critical rehearsal where we’ll be capturing clean footage and doing costume fittings if needed.
Dancers Must Wear:
Form-fitting ALL BLACK attire
Hair in a clean, low center-part ballet bun
No loose clothing or accessories
👗 What Your Dancer Needs for Performance
✅ Skin-Colored Leotard:
Required under all costumes for dress rehearsal and both shows.
👢 Shoes:
Please ensure your dancer has the correct shoes for each scene. (Shoes can be ordered by emailing info@amarillopac.com before December 1.)
Jazz Shoes: All Dancers Ages 6+
Ballet Shoes: Angels, Snow, Sugar Plum
Tap Shoes: Tapping Dolls
White Tennis Shoes: All Dancers - Prairie Dogs
Boots or Jazz Shoes: Big Steakhouse

Jeans
Tan jazz shoes or cowboy boots
Amarillo Sod Poodles, Cadillac Ranch, and Airport:
Plain black leggings (to be worn with provided costumes)

🎟️ Ticket Info
Anyone who will be sitting in a seat in the audience will need to purchase a ticket.
Tickets for The Nutcracker: Amarillo Dreamin’ are available soon through Panhandle Tickets.
👚 Costume & Check-In Procedure
Costumes will be kept by APAC and transported to the venue by staff. They will not be sent home.
Following the Sunday, December 7 performance, all costumes must be returned immediately to APAC staff. Please ensure all pieces are accounted for.
Every performer will need one designated adult backstage to help with costume changes. Please plan accordingly to ensure your dancer has assistance during the show.
💄 Hair & Makeup Guidelines
Makeup:
Light stage makeup: blush, mascara, and red lipstick
No nail polish
Hair:
Clean, low ballet bun with bobby pins + bun net
Use hairspray/gel to tame flyaways
Any headpieces should be secured to the dancer's right side
Jewelry:
Only small, clear diamond stud earrings are permitted — no other styles allowed.
Costume Care Reminder:
Please do not eat or drink anything but water while in costume. Many of these costumes are reused each year and cannot be replaced.
